This week, our Year 9 HSIE students took part in a meaningful incursion with Courage to Care NSW , exploring what it means to be an active citizen and an upstander. Students heard powerful stories of survival from the Holocaust, as well as the courageous actions of those who stood up to help save Jewish people during this time. Through these stories, they deepened their understanding of empathy, courage and the importance of standing up for others.

π€ Congratulations to our incredible student speakers! π We are so proud of our students who represented the College in the Catholic Schools Public Speaking Competition this term. Each student spoke with confidence, courage and professionalism, doing an outstanding job representing our school. A special congratulations to the four students who progressed to the Preliminary Finals β a fantastic achievement in such a strong field of competitors. While their journey in the competition has now come to an end, we are incredibly proud of the way all of our students challenged themselves, stepped outside their comfort zones, and spoke so confidently in front of others. Well done to all involved β! π

~LEARNING AT MARIAN - YEAR 7 ANCIENT DAY~ Last week, our Year 7 students took part in an exciting HSIE incursion presented by James Adams Historic Enterprises. As part of the experience, students explored weapons and everyday life in the ancient world, while also enjoying the chance to try on armour and get up close to historical items including swords, chainmail, helmets, shields and catapults. A huge congratulations to Mrs McGrath and our Open Girls Football Team on an outstanding performance at the PDSSSC Gala Day last week, earning their place in the Grand Final! π The girls were undefeated in their pool matches before powering through to win their semi-final, showcasing some high-quality football and representing the College with pride every step of the way. Our first Pathways Breakfast of the year was a great success! ββ¨ Last week, students and parents from Years 9β12 heard from Marian Catholic College alumni working across a range of industries, including marketing, counselling, surveying, property and retail management. It was a valuable opportunity for students to ask questions, broaden their thinking, and explore future career pathways they may not have considered. Through engaging activities and reflection, they explored how Mary models courage and faith, and how their own gifts and talents can enrich our school.
