Because of your donations, baking talents and big hearts, we raised over $1300 for Catholic Missionβs Socktober. πΌ World Teachersβ Day πΌ Last week, our Student Leaders hosted a special morning tea to celebrate the incredible teachers of Marian. In their speech, they reflected on the beloved Miss Honey from Matilda β a teacher who sees the unique potential in every student and creates a place where they feel safe, supported and inspired. Our teachers do this every single day. They gifted teachers with a cute jar of honey for 'bee-ing' such great teachers ππ― You are motivators, mentors, counsellors, cheerleaders and patient peacekeepers. You give your time, your heart and your βhoneyβ to help students grow β often in ways that will stay with them for life. Thank you for all that you do. πβ¨ In the words of our student leaders - "Thank you. For caring, for showing up and for creating the next generation of Australians, one conversation, one piece of feedback and one jar of honey at a time!"

YEAR 12 2026 RETREAT Recently our Year 12 2026 students traveled to Collaroy for their Year 12 retreat. All involved had a great experience which allowed them to leave behind the stresses of everyday life for moments of reflection, prayer, community and camaraderie. Highlights included an inspirational talk by Sam Clear, time at the beach together and night prayer. What a way to kick off the students' HSC year!

~ LEADERSHIP CAMP ~ This week, our newly appointed Senior Leadership Team came together for two days at the Annual Leaders Camp. Throughout the camp, they took part in discussions about leadership and communication, along with team-building activities designed to strengthen their connections as a group. A key focus across the two days was exploring what defines the Marian community and reflecting on what they hope to achieve in their roles as leaders. #BeConnected #BeMarian

π SOCKTOBER at Marian! π§¦β½πͺ Last week, some of our wonderful Year 9 students visited St Madeleineβs Primary to work alongside the Year 4 students as part of their Faith in Action learning. Together, they helped run workshops with younger students, promoting Catholic Missionβs Socktober β creating soccer balls out of donated fabric and putting them to the test on the oval! πͺπ This wonderful experience highlighted the importance of teamwork, creativity and compassion β all in support of raising awareness and funds for communities in Zambia. To continue our support, Marian will be holding a Socktober Bake Sale on Wednesday 5 November at recess in the Main Quad. π°π§ All funds raised will go directly to Catholic Mission to help provide food and education for children in need. π How you can help: π©βπ³ Donate cupcakes or baked goods to sell on the day π³ Purchases can be made via EFTPOS Thank you for supporting this meaningful cause and helping make a difference! π

You are invited to our annual CREATE! event which will be held on Tuesday 11th November from 5.30-7.30pm. CREATE! is a celebration of student's work this year, in all of our Key Learning Areas. βπππΉπ¨βοΈπ§¬ππππ½β From 5.30-6:30pm guests will be able to view displays across a number of year groups, whilst enjoying live music π€, and canapes prepared by the Hospitality studentsπ¨βπ³. From 6:30-7.30pm a concert will be held in the College Performance Area, showcasing a variety of repertoire by our Music and Dance soloists and Ensembles. πΌπ©° We look forward to welcoming you to 'CREATE' for 2025!

~ MISSION AT MARIAN β VINNIES VAN ~ Last week, once again, our wonderful Year 11 student volunteers and staff headed out with the Vinnies Van, supporting the communities of Parramatta and Mt Druitt. Together, they handed out food, snacks and drinks to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness β offering compassion, dignity, connection and conversation. ~LEARNING AT MARIAN - FOOD TECHNOLOGY~ Our Year 9 Food Technology students had an amazing time this week participating in a Cupcake Decorating Incursion run by the the talented Alexandra Tyral β The Late Night Baker. π§ Students learnt how to make American buttercream and discovered a range of piping techniques to decorate their own cupcakes in preparation for their upcoming assessment task that focuses on Food for Special Occasions. From elegant swirls to creative textures, the results were as delicious as they were beautiful. π©·π§π©· A huge thank you to Alexandra for inspiring our budding bakers with her skills, creativity, and passion for all things sweet. #LearningAtMarian #BeChallenged #BeMarian

π BRADMAN FEAST DAY π Commemorating the Feast of St. John Paul II: A Life of Compassion We celebrate the Feast of St. John Paul II, a truly remarkable soul whose life was a shining example of compassion, love, and faith. St. John Paul II, born Karol JΓ³zef WojtyΕa, was a Pope who touched the hearts of millions around the world with his unwavering commitment to humanity. His legacy is one of compassion, and it's a legacy we can all learn from and strive to emulate. Throughout his pontificate, St. John Paul II showed compassion in so many ways: π He tirelessly advocated for peace and reconciliation in a world often torn apart by conflict. π He connected with people from all walks of life, regardless of their background, making them feel seen and valued. π He reached out to those in need, visiting the sick, the imprisoned, and the marginalized, reminding us to show love and care to the least fortunate. π He was an environmental steward, urging us to protect and cherish the world that God has given us. π He emphasised the importance of prayer, showing us the path to finding solace and strength in our faith.
