The St Mad's Dinner Dance will be held on Friday 18th September at Dural Club. This event is the parish's main fundraiser for the year and offers a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together for an evening of fun and support for St Mad's Parish. The funds raised will support the parish's various programs and initiatives, benefiting our children, families and the broader community, including the Refugee Support Program through CRISP, as well as ongoing support for CatholicCare initiatives assisting those who are marginalised and in need. Last week, a number of our Year 8 students attended CSPDβs Lifted Go, where they explored the impact of the cost-of-living crisis,and the 2026-2027 Social Justice Statement. Sienna G, hearing from Bishop Vincent and learning about the challenges many families face really opened her eyes to the hardships people experience: βI really liked the fact that we were all asked to bring toothpaste and toothbrushes to donate to those in need. There are many people in Australia that are giving up basic hygiene just to feed their families and the least we can do is provide them with the support they need. By giving the basic things lots of people take for granted you can make a huge difference in one personβs life - and that is what Lifted has made me realise.β Lifted Go has inspired these students to give more, volunteer their time and look for ways that they can make a difference in the lives of others. π

Today, we honour the belief that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory. Her life's purity, devotion, and unwavering faith inspire us to strive for greater spiritual heights. As we reflect on her extraordinary journey, let us embrace her example of humility and grace as a Marian community. The Assumption reminds us of the eternal rewards that await those who dedicate their lives to love, compassion, and service. May Mary's intercession continue to guide and bless us on our own spiritual paths. Yesterday we celebrated this special feast day with a beautiful Mass alongside the St Madeleine's Primary, Kenthurst School community. Coming together in worship, we reflected on the significance of Maryβs Assumption and her unwavering faith. The liturgy was a special time of unity and devotion, where we joined in prayer, song, and the Eucharist, deepening our connection to the Marian tradition. Happy Feast of the Assumption! π

π§¦πJRS Fatherβs Day Sock Drive - August 2026 π𧦠Marian Catholic College is partnering with the Jesuit Refugee Service in Parramatta to provide 100 fathers accessing JRS services with a small Father's Day gift package. Part of these gift packages will be socks, so we are asking all students to consider donating new pairs of menβs socks. These can be dropped off at the student foyer, up until Monday the 31st August. These gifts will be distributed to fathers and father figures in the community who are seeking asylum, many of whom face significant financial hardship while working hard to support their families. This is a really meaningful initiative for students to engage with, and JRS has said they would be very grateful for any support Marian Catholic College may be able to offer. ππ

Today we celebrate the Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia's first saint and a remarkable witness to faith, courage and service. At Marian Catholic College, we are especially grateful for the example of St Mary MacKillop as the patron saint of one of our Marian Houses. Her life reminds us to trust in God's providence, to show compassion to those in need, and to persevere with hope, even in the face of challenges. May the students and staff of MacKillop House be inspired by her words, "Never see a need without doing something about it," and may our entire Marian community continue to walk in her footsteps by serving others with kindness, humility and faith. St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, pray for us.

We had a wonderful week welcoming our friends from Ikubunkan High School, Japan. π―π΅π€π¦πΊ Over the course of their visit, our special guests experienced life at Marian College alongside their student buddies, who helped them navigate school life, build friendships and practise their English while sharing a little of Australian culture. To celebrate the conclusion of their visit, we gathered on Monday to farewell our friends, where the students received certificates to acknowledge their participation. Opportunities like these create meaningful connections, broaden perspectives and remind us of the value of learning from one another. Thank you to our Ikubunkan visitors for sharing your culture, kindness and enthusiasm with our community. We wish you all the very best and hope to welcome you back again one day! ππ«Ά

πCELEBRATING STUDENT SUCCESS! π Congratulations to our students on their recent outstanding sporting achievements! π Congratulations to Elisa R, Ella D and Rachel F on becoming NSW U/14 Netball State Champions with Baulkham Hills Shire Netball Association at the HART Junior State Titles. Competing in 21 matches over three days at Campbelltown against the best netball associations across NSW, the team won an incredible 20 games to claim the State title!! π Ella D (Year 8 ) was talent identified by Netball NSW Selectors and invited to participate in an upcoming Netball NSW pathways skills clinic with elite level coaches from Netball NSW. π Hayley F (Year 8 ) achieved an outstanding 9th place at NSWCCC Cross Country and 23rd at the All Schools Championships. π€Έ Mikayla W (Year 9) proudly represented NSW in the Level 8 Division at the Gymnastics Border Challenge in Queensland with an amazing performance, contributing to her teamβs overall score. π€Έ Elizabeth S (Year 9) claimed gold on Floor in the Level 8 Seniors Division at the NSW Senior State Gymnastics Championships. π Nate M (Year 10) represented Baulkham Hills Bulls at the state championships in February earlier this year and earned selection in the Western Sydney Tiger Cubs U/16 team and will compete at the Australian Oztag Junior Championships in Coffs Harbour. We are incredibly proud of all our students and wish them continued success in their sporting journeys! πππ

As our Year 12 students begin their HSC Trial Examinations on Monday, we hold them in our thoughts and prayers during this significant milestone in their final year at Marian. Through our Student Prayer Partner Program, each Year 12 student has been paired with a Marian staff member who is praying for them individually as they navigate the Trial and HSC exams. We invite the wider Marian community to join us in prayer for our Year 12 studentsβthat they may be filled with calm, courage, focus and resilience.
