Last week, we officially invested our 2021 Student leaders in our first online Investiture Assembly.
While COVID has prevented us from gathering as a whole school community, we were committed to formally honouring our 2021 leaders with as much tradition as possible.
With covid-safe protocols in place, we pre-recorded an investiture ceremony allowing our new leaders to be presented with their badges and address the school community via zoom.
We would like to thank our 2020 leadership team for their contributions and commitment to the College, in what has been a difficult year. They have held strong in their responsibilities as leaders throughout the challenges of 2020.
Congratulations to our new leaders for 2021. We have faith and trust in your abilities to serve as leaders for your peers and the Marian Community, we wish you all the best for the year ahead in your leadership roles.

🌟WORLD EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT STAFF DAY🌟 Today we celebrated World Educational Support Staff Day in honour of our wonderful support staff at Marian. Our support staff were welcomed at assembly today, where the student leaders took the opportunity to recognise and appreciate the work that our incredible support staff do behind the scenes every day! As our college captains Ruby and Jacob shared in their speech to the community: "World Support Staff Day isn't just about recognising specific jobs, but recognising the idea of support itself. The people who quietly help hold our communities together every single day." So today, we take the time to genuinely thank our support staff for the value they bring to our community and for the difference they make to the life of our College.

Our competitors performed extremely well with some great results, and several students progressing to NSWCCC. Congratulations to all of the finalists in the 2026 NSW Training Awards! What an incredible achievement and wonderful recognition of the dedication, passion and hard work these students and teachers have shown in their Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways. A special congratulations to our very own Ruby, whose selection as a finalist for VET in Schools Student of the Year in Hospitality is an outstanding accomplishment. Students from Years 8 and 9 recently had the opportunity to take part in inspiring faith formation experiences through CSPD’s Lifted events at Nagle College, Blacktown. Students joined peers from schools across the Diocese to deepen their faith, engage in meaningful discussions and reflect on how they can live out their faith in everyday life. Year 8 students attended Lifted Rise where they explored faith in action, Jesus in the modern world and the enduring love God has for all people. Together with students from across the Diocese, they reflected on building a brighter future through love, friendship and respect for others. Year 9 students attended Lifted Unleashed, where they participated in group discussions, connected with students from other schools and heard from insightful guest speakers. “It was a fun-filled day of singing, dancing and keeping Jesus in our hearts. We met with other schools, sharing our experiences and discussing how we can keep hope in God during hardships.”

Our Year 7 students had a wonderful time at camp last week at CCC, Central Coast! Year 7's embraced a range of fun recreational activities designed to challenge, inspire and bring them together. From teamwork challenges to adventures on the water, students demonstrated resilience, leadership and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones. With a strong focus on connection, camp provided a fantastic opportunity for students to build new friendships and strengthen existing ones across the grade. It was wonderful to see so many students encouraging one another, supporting their peers and creating memories together. A huge thank you to our staff for making the experience such a positive and memorable one for all involved!

Our recent Back to the 80’s Trivia Night was, like, totally awesome! 🎤✨ With big hair, fluoro leg warmers and enough neon to light up the next decade, the Marian community came together for a fantastic night of laughs, trivia and 80’s fun in anticipation of our upcoming Back to the 80’s Musical. The night featured some seriously talented yo-yo and hula hoop competitions, plus a sneak peek from our incredible band that had everyone feeling the rhythm of the 80’s! 🎶 A huge shout out to our amazing Hospitality team who absolutely rocked it with delicious savoury and sweet grazing boxes throughout the night. From start to finish, it was a radical evening full of community spirit, great memories and totally tubular fun! 💿🕺

Our Agriculture and Primary Industries students are very excited to welcome Tim and Tam to the Ag Plot. The male calves are from Leppington Pastoral Company and are a part of the Penrith Show Calf Raising Competition. Students are feeding the calves milk twice a day and watching and monitoring their growth. Soon the calves will be trained to lead by students. 🐄🐮

We pray for our mothers, our Heavenly mothers and mums-to-be.💐🌷💝 Lord Jesus Christ, You chose to put yourself—tiny, needy and helpless—into the nurturing and watchful hands of a human mother. Since then, every act of mothering, both physical and spiritual, in every time and every corner of the world recollects Mary’s. This week, our Stage 6 students gathered with parents and carers at St Madeleine Sophie Barat Parish to celebrate our Mother’s Day Mass, celebrated by Fr Giovani. The Mass was a beautiful opportunity to give thanks for the love, sacrifice, guidance and care shown by mothers and significant mother figures within our lives and community. In his reflections, Fr Giovani reminded us of the important role these women play in shaping who we are through their compassion, strength and unwavering support. It was a meaningful celebration filled with gratitude, prayer and connection as we honoured those who nurture and walk beside us each day.

This week, our Year 9 students participated in a meaningful Formation Day facilitated by Chris Doyle. Students were encouraged to reflect on their lives so far, appreciate the gift of life, and open their hearts to Jesus through lives of service to others. Music, laughter and joy were key features of the day, creating a positive and engaging experience for all involved as students continued to reflect on what it means to "Walk with Christ."
