🌟 Celebrating Outstanding Student Achievements! 🌟 We are incredibly proud of our students who continue to achieve at exceptional levels across a wide range of extra-curriclar activities at the state, national and international level. 🥉 Zara D (Year 11) has made sporting history by winning a bronze medal at the World Cadet Fencing Championships—the first Australian female to win a world championship medal in this category. 🤺👏👏👏 👏 Milla M (Year 8) - at the NSW Junior Athletics Championships, Milla achieved a personal best and went on to qualify for the Nationals in both the 400m and 800m events. Milla was also awarded the Rouse Hill Rams Female Club Champion for 2025/2026 season. 🏃‍♀️ 🥇 Beau A (Year 9) was crowned State Champion in the 2000m Steeplechase, silver in the 1500m and bronze in the 3000m at the NSW Junior Athletics Championships, qualifying for Nationals. 🏃 👏 Isabelle V (Year 8) competed at her first Australian Age Swimming Championships, delivering a strong performance in the 50m Breaststroke and finishing just off her personal best at a national level. 🏊‍♀️ 👏Annabelle W (Year 7) was selected to represent Australia at the ICU World Championships in Orlando, USA, as part of the Youth All Girl team—an incredible achievement at the highest level of international cheerleading.📣 👏Isaac P (Year 9) competed at the Australian Athletics Championships, placing 9th in discus and 10th in javelin against the nation’s best.🥏 👏Scarlett W (Year 7) placed in the top 20 at the BMX National Championships in both events, earning qualification for the World Championships. She is looking forward to proudly representing Australia this July.🚴‍♀️ 👏Olivia P (Year 11) claimed gold in the U18 Mixed Doubles at the NSW Pickleball Championships, earning a “Gold Ticket” to the 2026 QLD Championships, and also secured bronze in the Women’s Doubles event. 🏓 👏 Brooklyn C (Year 12) represented Australia at the ICU World Championships in Orlando, USA, with her Hip Hop team placing 5th in the world, and competed at Dance Worlds where her team reached finals in both Pom and Hip Hop.🌍 👏Mienke B (Year 8) was selected for the NSW State Youth Archery Team and competed at the Australian Youth National Championships in April. 🏹 👏Charley K (Year 11) was selected to represent NSW at the Emerging Socceroos Championships in April — an exciting opportunity at a high-performance level. ⚽ 👏 Hayley F (Year 8) competed strongly at the National Triathlon event in QLD, winning her B Final and recording one of the fastest overall times in her division. 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️ 👏 Beau S & Isaac M (Year 10) represented NSWCCC in baseball, showcasing excellent skill, teamwork and sportsmanship. ⚾ We congratulate all students on their dedication, perseverance and outstanding achievements—we are incredibly proud of you all! 👏

💚 World’s Greatest Shave 2026 💚 Marian is proud to once again take part in the World’s Greatest Shave, raising vital funds to support those impacted by leukaemia. 📅 Friday 29 May ⏰ Recess & Lunch Last year, our incredible community raised over $18,000 — helping fund personalised treatment for 17 people or providing a week’s accommodation for four families staying close to loved ones during treatment. An amazing effort! Let’s see if we can match it… or even go one better in 2026 🙌 ✂️ Students can sign up via the Google Form — the link is available now on Compass.✂️

✂HAIRDRESSERS WANTED FOR WORLD'S GREATEST SHAVE ✂ Team Marian is once again participating in the World’s Greatest Shave this year to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation. We are looking for qualified hairdressers to volunteer their time on the day to shave and cut hair ✂. The details of the event are: 🔹Friday 29 May, 2026 🔹Session 1 - 11:15am - 11:45am OR Session 2 - 1:45pm - 2:15pm (arrival 15 minutes prior) 🔹Location - Marian school grounds (Main Quad) 🔹Volunteer hairdressers will need to provide their own equipment. This morning, Marian students had the honour of once again participating in ANZAC Day commemorations within our local community, joining the Rotary Club of Kenthurst for their annual service. College captains Ruby and Jacob laid a wreath at the memorial in tribute to those who have served, and Vice Captain Sophia opened the ceremony with the Acknowledgement of Country. Our students proudly represented the College with dignity and respect, reflecting on the sacrifices made by Australia’s service men and women, both past and present. 🙏 Lest we forget.

Today we gathered at assembly to commemorate ANZAC Day, a day of remembrance, of gratitude, and of reflection. We remember the courage of those who served. We honour the sacrifice of those who gave their lives. We acknowledge the countless men and women whose lives were forever changed by war. The ANZAC story is one of bravery, mateship, and resilience. So today, we remember. We honour. We commit ourselves to something greater, to be people of courage, people of compassion, and above all, people of peace.

~LEARNING AT MARIAN - YEAR 8 MEDIEVAL INCURSION~ Year 8 students took part in an engaging Medieval incursion with James Adams Enterprises this week. Through an interactive show, students explored life in Medieval times, learning about daily life, armies, and the realities of battle. The experience brought history to life, with students trying on armour and getting hands-on with replicas of swords, chain mail and helmets. It was a memorable day that deepened their understanding of the Medieval world. 🛡⚔

Last term, our Agriculture students had a fantastic day at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, proudly exhibiting their Hyline layers, beeswax and honey. A highlight of the day was Marian achieving 1st place in both Honey and Beeswax Moulds — an outstanding result! 🐝🍯🥇

~LEARNING AT MARIAN - STEAM EXHIBITION~ Throughout term 1, students engaged in a unit entitled "What does it take to fly?". Through collaborative hands-on design challenges, students explored the science of flight - forces, lift, thrust, drag and weight as well as the engineering design process, measurement and creative communication. The exhibition provided students with a valuable opportunity to showcase their learning, articulate their findings, and present their work to parents and carers, peers, and staff during the final week of term.

~LEARNING AT MARIAN~ Last term, the Year 11 Biology classes visited Penrith Lakes as part of their studies on ecosystem dynamics. Their day of fieldwork consisted of bird watching, dipnetting and water testing. Once the results were collated they gave a picture of the health of the Penrith Lakes ecosystem. The highlights included catching macroinvertebrates such as freshwater shrimp and mosquito fish as well as looking for the turtles in the ponds. #LearningAtMarian #BeChallenged #BeConnected #BeMarian

Last term, our Junior SRCs and College Captains attended the Secondary Youth Leadership Conference. The aim of the day was to provide some strategies and ways of leading their peers and enacting positive changes. They heard from well known leaders such as Rose Jackson; the Minister for Youth, Mental Health, Water, Housing and Homelessness; who spoke about how she achieved a positive change in her high school, and Harry Garside, who spoke about the importance of Self Leadership. At the end of the day, the students walked away feeling very inspired and more prepared in enacting positive changes within our school. #BeInspired #BeMarian

~ MISSION AT MARIAN – VINNIES VAN ~ During the holidays, our Year 12 student volunteers, alongside staff, recently headed out with the St Vincent de Paul Society Vinnies Van, supporting communities in Parramatta and Mount Druitt. Throughout the evening, they shared food, snacks and drinks with those experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness — but more importantly, they offered time, conversation and genuine connection.
