Marian students were honoured to participate in Anzac ceremonies throughout the local community this morning. As part of his role as one of Castle Hill RSL's Anzac Ambassadors, Jacob Carr of Year 11 took part in the dawn service held at Anzac Centenary Reserve, Kellyville. A number of Year 12 students represented the college at the Rotary Club of Kenthurst Anzac Ceremony with college captains Joan and David laying a wreath at the memorial and Nick Forbes reading the Anzac requiem. It was wonderful to see our students representing the college with pride, reflecting and remembering the sacrifices of Australia's service men and women, past and present. Today we commemorate ANZAC Day. Today we give thanks and remember the sacrifices of those who have served and currently serve for our country's freedom. Congratulations to Jacob Carr who has been selected as an RSL Secondary School ANZAC Ambassador for 2024. The Ambassadors are selected each year after an extensive selection process, and only 4 students are selected from all schools in the Hills area. Jacob will speak at this yearβs ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Centenary of ANZAC Reserve, Wrights Road, Kellyville on Anzac Day.

~ CROSS COUNTRY 2024 ~ We had perfect weather at the end of the term for our annual Cross Country. Once again, our students gave it their all and we had some great results. A big thank you to Mr Thomas, our PDHPE staff and our PASS students who assisted around the course on the day. ~RAMSES EXCURSION ~ At the end of term, History students from Years 7, 10 and 11 visited the Ramses Exhibition at the Australian Museum. The excursion allowed students to view and analyse artefacts as part of their studies of the Ancient World. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse themselves in the Egyptian world surrounded by objects that were more than 3000 years old, detailing the life of Ramses II.

π·π‘πΊA TASTE OF JAZZ π·π‘πΊ On Thursday 16th May from 5:30-9pm, Marian will be presenting an exciting event called "A Taste of Jazz", which will showcase the talents of our Hospitality, Music and Entertainment students. The event will be held in the college DPA and will include live Jazz performances by our current and Alumni Marian students. Guests will be treated to a four-course meal prepared and served by our Hospitality students. All proceeds raised on the night will be given to our Catholic Mission Ground Partners, as part of the 2024 Immersion Trip to the Philippines. Tickets are $30 for an adult and $20 for a child (plus 50c booking fee per person). Tickets can be made through the Trybooking link that has been sent to Marian families on Compass. Be quick as ticket sales close on Monday 6 May! We hope that you will be able to join us for this exciting evening!

Pippa, our school wellbeing dog, has been visiting regularly this term, wagging her tail with joy and delighting students with her furry presence. Our students have loved getting to know her, as she offers a comforting paw, or simply spreading cheer with her playful antics. ~ VISUAL ARTS EXCURSION ~ Yr 11 and 12 Visual Arts students spent the day visiting the Artexpress exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW to view exemplary samples of HSC Major Projects. They also enjoyed visiting the Contemporary wing of the Gallery to deepen their understanding of Contemporary issues in art. #LearningAtMarian #BeInspired #BeMarian
