๐Celebrating Student Sporting Success! ๐ Weโre proud to recognise the recent achievements of Marian students competing at state, national and international levels across a range of sports. ๐โโ๏ธSwimming โ Andra V, Ava C & Maisie L๐โโ๏ธ Andra, Ava and Maisie represented Marian at the Australian Age National Championships. Ava achieved a PB in the 50m breaststroke and placed 33rd nationally. Andra won her heat in the 50m breaststroke, and set a new PB. Maisie qualified for three finals, placing 8th in the 1500m, 9th in the 800m and 400m IM, and performed strongly across five events. Andra will also be competing at the Australian Swimming Trials today! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ ๐ฏArchery โ Mienke B ๐ฏ Mienke earned two silver medals at the 2025 National Youth Archery Championships, placing 2nd in both the 900 target round and 720 ranking round. ๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐คธโโ๏ธCheerleading โ Addison G ๐คธโโ๏ธ Addison successfuly made the Australian Cheer Team and had the opportunity to represent Australia at the ICU World Championships in Orlando, Florida, USA. Addison and her team won gold on the world stage, competing against teams from around the globe! ๐ฅ๐ โฝ๏ธFootball โ Thomas C โฝ๏ธ Thomas competed for the U17 Australian Joeys at the AFC Asian Cup in the UAE, playing against Vietnam, UAE and Japanโan incredible international experience. ๐ ๐Hip Hop โ Montana S & Sienna K Montana and Sienna won nationals in hip hop and are now headed to the World Championships in the USA. ๐๐บ๐ธ โฝ๏ธFootball โ Paige & Thomas Cโฝ๏ธ Paige and Tom have both been selected to play at the NSWCCC Open Boys and Girls Football Championshipsโa great achievement at state level. ๐ Student Spotlight โ Zara, Year 10 (Fencing) ๐ก๏ธ Meet Zara, an elite Sabre fencer and member of the High Performance Australian Fencing Team, who is making an incredible mark on the world stage. ๐ This year, Zara has been training and competing in the United States and internationally. In her debut season on the Fencing World Circuit, she has delivered some remarkable performances. She is the current Australian Champion and Commonwealth Games Champion, placing 2nd at the US National Tournament, earning a silver medal from a field of 250 competitors, and is now ranked 5th in the US overall. She also achieved a top 10 finish (9th) at the Asian Championships and ends the season as one of the highest-ranked Cadet/Junior fencers globally. Zaraโs dedication, determination and success are a testament to her hard work and passion for the sport. Her achievements continue to inspire our school community, and we look forward to whatโs next in her fencing journey. Congratulations, Zara โ weโre incredibly proud of you! ๐ ๐

๐โ๐ WORLD'S GREATEST SHAVE ๐โ๐ We are so incredibly proud of these students, and our teachers Mrs Chapman and Mr Holohan, for their compassion and courage as they braved the shave for the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave last Friday. As of today, they have raised a whopping $17,744!!!! It is truly amazing to see how wonderful our Marian community have supported #TeamMarian2025 with their generosity and kindness. ๐๐ SHOUT OUT to - Oscar, Ava, Griffin, Christian, Rocco, Alec, Jacob, Troy, Carlo, Sarosh, Brock, Mrs Chapman & Mr Holohan - you are all an inspiration and we are so proud of you all! ๐โ๐โ Every dollar raised helps provide families with much-needed support while facing blood cancer and also funds research to stop blood cancer in it's tracks. MARIAN DAY is next Friday, 13 June (Week 7). This year's theme is ๐ 'Celebrity Amazing Race' ๐ and we're very excited for our staff and students to celebrate! Students are to arrive at school at the normal time in FULL WINTER UNIFORM and we will commence the day with a College Mass. After Mass, students are permitted to change into appropriate mufti or a costume relating the the 'Celebrity' theme. Please see the letter communicated via Compass for more details. Some fun activities have been planned, and we're thrilled to announce that Outback Steakhouse Australia will be supplying lunch for our staff and students. We can't wait to celebrate Marian Day!!! ๐ซถโญ๏ธ

To mark the end of National Reconciliation Week, we gathered for the first Mass in the college's Bush Chapel. Fr Clement led the celebration and offered a blessing over the sacred space. Staff and students shared moving reflections on what Reconciliation means to them, speaking deeply to themes of identity, healing, truth-telling, and shared understanding. In his homily, Fr Clement drew on his own experiences to speak about unity โ reminding us that we are all human, created under one God. He called us to peace, respect, and the importance of genuine acknowledgement. He reflected that, despite our differences and diverse backgrounds, we all share one Father and are united in faith. #FaithAtMarian #BeConnected #BeMarian #NRW2025 #BridgingNowToNext

~LEARNING AT MARIAN~ Last week, Year 10 students engaged in a powerful History incursion, Vietnam, Dusted Off, designed to deepen their understanding of the Vietnam War and its far-reaching effects. Brett Hunt, son of a Vietnam War veteran, captivated the audience with a compelling narrative and original musical compositions as he shared the story of his father, 'Frankie'. Through this deeply personal perspective, students gained insight into the enduring consequences of modern conflict and were encouraged to develop empathy for those affected. #LearningAtMarian #BeConnected #BeMarian

Students and parents of Years 9 to 12 are warmly invited to attend our next Pathways Breakfast on Friday, 20th June in the College Hall. This event, themed โCareers that Careโ, will showcase inspiring career journeys in the health and wellbeing industries. Hear from Marian alumni currently working as nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and dietitians. Discover the pathways they took, what their daily roles involve, and the personal rewards of working in professions that make a real difference. Enjoy breakfast from 7:45am, with presentations beginning at 8:00am in the hall. Donโt miss this opportunity to explore your future in a career that cares! If you wish to attend, please RSVP no later than 12:00pm Friday 16th June as spaces are limited! This week our Year 8 students participated in their Year 8 Reflection Day facilitated by the Young Lesalians, Marian staff and the Year 10 and 11 students who are part of our Peer to Peer Ministry program. The theme for the day was 'Heroes' and focused on how we are each called to be heroes in our daily lives by learning from the lives of our Marian house saints. Students participated in team building activities and fun games. #BeConnected #BeMarian
