This Friday 4 September, the Marian Catholic College community will be supporting Jersey Day. Jersey Day is about promoting awareness of The Organ and Tissue Authority and the DONATE LIFE network. ๐๐All students have permission to wear their favourite sporting jersey over their uniform on Friday 4 September.๐๐ Students are not required to wear a blazer when wearing a jersey. We hope as many students and members of the Marian community wear a jersey to their workplace or school on Friday 4 September, showing their support for Jersey Day and the DONATE LIFE network, and begin the conversation with their friends and families about Organ Donation.

๐จ A Body of Work in a Day! ๐จ What can our Visual Arts students create in just one day? A whole lot of creativity! โจ Last week, our Year 11 Visual Arts students took on the challenge of developing a mini Body of Work in a Day, exploring their concepts, experimenting with techniques and bringing their ideas to life. Students received valuable critical feedback from HSC Visual Arts mentor Johnny Romeo, before inviting their own mentors to view and respond to their work. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to create, experiment, reflect and refine as they prepare for their HSC Major Works. ๐๏ธ๐จ A big thank you to our Visual Arts teachers, Johnny Romeo and all of the mentors who supported our emerging artists throughout this inspiring day!

โจ 2026 MCCAF โจ Congratulations to our incredibly talented students who took to the stage at MCCAF last week. MCCAF is always a wonderful showcase of the talent, dedication and passion of both our students and staff, and this year was no exception. Our energetic dance ensembles, beautiful vocals and impressive instrumental and drama pieces showcased the incredible depth of talent within our CAPA community. Congratulations, Marian Dancers! ๐โจ What an incredible day for our talented dance students at the Inspire Arts Competition on Monday! Our dancers competed alongside schools from the Catholic, public and independent sectors, proudly representing Marian. ๐ Junior Lyrical โ 1st Place ๐ Junior Contemporary โ 1st Place ๐ Junior Jazz โ 1st Place ๐ Junior Jazz โ Highly Commended ๐ Senior Hip Hop โ 1st Place ๐ Senior Jazz โ 1st Place ๐ฅ Senior Lyrical โ 2nd Place ๐ฅ Senior Contemporary โ 2nd Place Marian also received the Highest Point Scoring Hip Hop Routine of the day, as well as the Most Entertaining Award for our Senior Jazz routine! ๐ A huge congratulations to Mrs Curran our dance teacher, and to all of our dancers and choreographers for these fantastic results! ๐๐

๐ Congratulations to our Junior Girls Netball Team!๐ The team won the Grand Final at the NSW Catholic Schools Gala Day last week โ competing against Catholic schools from across the state - making them the Junior Girls Netball Champions of NSW Catholic Schools! ๐๐ Congratulations to coach Mrs Attard, our talented players and everyone who has supported the team along the way. The St Mad's Dinner Dance will be held on Friday 18th September at Dural Club. This event is the parish's main fundraiser for the year and offers a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together for an evening of fun and support for St Mad's Parish. The funds raised will support the parish's various programs and initiatives, benefiting our children, families and the broader community, including the Refugee Support Program through CRISP, as well as ongoing support for CatholicCare initiatives assisting those who are marginalised and in need. Last week, a number of our Year 8 students attended CSPDโs Lifted Go, where they explored the impact of the cost-of-living crisis,and the 2026-2027 Social Justice Statement. Sienna G, hearing from Bishop Vincent and learning about the challenges many families face really opened her eyes to the hardships people experience: โI really liked the fact that we were all asked to bring toothpaste and toothbrushes to donate to those in need. There are many people in Australia that are giving up basic hygiene just to feed their families and the least we can do is provide them with the support they need. By giving the basic things lots of people take for granted you can make a huge difference in one personโs life - and that is what Lifted has made me realise.โ Lifted Go has inspired these students to give more, volunteer their time and look for ways that they can make a difference in the lives of others. ๐
